PPIC One Year Anniversary
Since the Inaugural Meeting on November 28th, 2018, the Plant Protein Innovation Center has expanded its reach and made great strides in the right direction for the future of plant and alternative proteins. The PPIC currently has 12 industry members companies, including Cargill, Conagra Brands, The Hershey Company, ADM, Ingredion, Kellogg's, Saputo Dairy Foods, Coca-Cola, General Mills, Nutriati, Benson Hill, and Motif Food Works. Among the PPIC's accomplishments within its inaugural year were a successful first round of RFPs that turned out the first two PPIC-funded research projects, two widely sought events, including the first "Protein Basics Short Course" and "Research Spotlight Meeting", and the acquisition of over one million dollars in funds with another one million pending in grants.
